This, and the Anthology listed next, are the best Elton John in print. Most, but not all songs, have melody in the keyboard part, so overall the songs can be played as piano solos. But, not all! This type of uneven format is indicative of all Elton John, originally published in and licensed from England, and they do an overall sloppy, inconsistent job. Level ranges from easy to lower advanced, again, inconsistent. All lyrics are provided of course, as well as chord symbols and guitar fretboards above the staff.
Although this collection is below the current standards from most publishers, it is still the best in print for Elton John. Some of the very worst popular music arrangements I have seen in print, are by the hacks that churn out the Elton John songbooks (contracted at the cheapest price, no doubt)! Inexcusable, in that Elton John is certainly one of the greatest singer/composers of the rock era.
Recommend, but with some serious reservations, and you really don't have any other choice if you want these songs. . .

The Anthology is not particularly comprehensive. Matter of fact, there is considerable overlap in contents with the "To Be Continued..." collection above (obvious marketing technique -- obtain publishing rights for a group of songs, shuffle them into two collections with lots of overlap). Similar uneven format as "To Be Continued" above, but again, is the most comprehensive EJ you can get.
As to why "Lucy in the Sky" is in both of these collections, is beyond me. . . This was a cover record by Elton John, and certainly the producers could have chosen an actual Elton John song from the dozens and dozens that are for some reason not in print!!
As with the To Be Continued... above, marginal recommendation for these collections. And unfortunately, there are none better.

Consistency between songs is as above, marginal (different size music fonts, good clarity on some songs, blurry on others). Some very good arrangements included, but a few lemons to be sure.

This is a good collection!
Consistency is even pretty much throughout, all songs contain complete lyrics as well as chord symbols above the staff. Level is on the easier side of Easy Piano, in that the left hand is fairly transparent (linear). Recommend.

Exact notes Elton John plays, but when he provides light accompaniment to a solo, this is notated as well! This is an excellent source for his exact notes, but does not work well if you are looking for his music arranged for piano solo. There is a piano solo collection listed above that works better, in my opinion.
But again, if you want to be able to play exactly what Elton John plays, this is the collection that will give you that kind of depth.
