Jansen Petite Artist Benches are built with the exact same mechanism used on the full sized Artist Bench. Tolerances are very close, there is no bench wobble. These benches are ideally suited for Baby Grand pianos, uprights, or anywhere where a smaller sized bench fits better. Many people find the more conservative top design (compared to the diamond-tufted top on standard artist benches) is better suited for their particular needs. All Jansen benches are constructed in their own factory, even the mechanism is built in their machine shop.

A note on Mahogany benches:
If you are ordering a Mahogany piano bench, it looks best with either the brown vinyl top, or the burgundy leather top. The brown leather top does not go particularly well with the mahogany.

- Petite Duet is the preferable size for all instruments, whether small grand piano or upright. The standard petite is a very small bench, and should be considered only where space is an issue.
- For ebony bench, select either black vinyl or black leather
- For walnut bench, select either brown vinyl, or brown leather
- For mahogany bench, select either brown vinyl, or burgundy leather
