The above publishers are familiar names to classical musicians -- especially C.F. Peters: the publisher that may well be the most familiar name in classical print music. C.F. Peters publications are known for their quality, accuracy, and clarity, as well as for the musicological research that goes into the majority of their fine titles (especially the most recent editions). C.F. Peters represents many noteworthy contemporary composers, as well as publishing the finest collections for the classical masters. Overall, Peters, and the European publishers they represent: Belaieff, Hinrichsen, et al. are of the highest quality, and are preferred along with Henle editions by the professional musician. These editions cost a bit more to be sure. . . but are well worth the few extra dollars for the serious musician looking for a serious musical score which will be valued for a lifetime! |
